SEO- Search Engine Optimization
Blind Faith. Thats something I find hard to give. Many science minds would agree. There has to be a control, an explanation. a hypothesis. So in the online world, why is there so much blind faith? Why can’t there be a solid way to control internet traffic and ensure our own safety. We trust all of our personal information to be sent through the internet, at the same time paranoid of someone else getting their hands on it, i.e. hackers, and yet still continue to, risking blindly.
We are so reliant on our senses and can only imagine perceiving things through these five mediums. So how can you justify yourself in faith? Where do you turn when the one thing that gave you hope snatches it away?
….a lot of dramatic thought that has seemingly nothing to do with search engines right?
My world was shattered today as I completed an article regarding search engine optimization (SEO). Basically, for all who don’t know, it is a way of tricking the search engines into finding your page relevant to certain queries. Ya they blanket it with pretty advertising phrases like : “don’t get lost in the pages of results, be at the top!”
Who wouldn’t jump at the chance for 6 billion people (ok I’m aware not every human being is of age or has access to the internet…but you get my idea) to be immediately directed to their page. My gosh if I had a billion readership I’d be “banking”!
But that isn’t the case, so what this booming business does is analyze the search method. And the darndest thing about it all is lets say I go online and search for” SEO”…all those sites know the trick!! They are all fighting to be the #1 listed and using all their tricks to get there.
Sure they have whole pages and sites dedicated to “organic” searching and “ethical SEO”…but is there really a way to be ethical about tricking people who are genuinely searching for an answer.
This in my opinion is a step back. We are stepping back into the days where you actually had to search every single result that is found so that you don’t miss out on all the important information you need. We should have left it the way it was…to let the search engines do their jobs and do it well, giving us the correct information we wanted and were searching for.
